Education
  • Ph.D, Mechanical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, 2011
  • M.S., Mechanical Engineering, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, 2006
  • B.S., Physics, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, 2004
Research Areas

My technical expertise builds upon my joint education in Physics and Mechanical Engineering, with special focus being in robotics applied to problems in teleoperation, biomedical engineering, semi-autonomous behavior, and machine learning. These tools have also been applied to physical testing of components relevant to glovebox safety, criticality safety, and safe nuclear materials storage.

My joint appointment allows me a unique opportunity to align interested NMT students with summer-internship and student-employee opportunities.  I also have interest in working with graduate students towards their thesis or dissertation on topics that are aligned with LANL’s mission.  Feel free to contact me if you would like more information about these opportunities.  I do check my LANL email more frequently, so please reach out using [email protected].
